New York Jets Rookie Tackle Out For The Season

The New York Jets have been one of the NFL's biggest surprises in 2022, with a 7-5 record through 13 weeks, and they've managed to do so through injuries to some of their biggest names, with Breece Hall, Mekhi Becton and Alijah Vera-Tucker all missing the rest of the season, and unfortunately, they'll be joined this week by rookie Max Mitchell.

Today, the Jets announced that Mitchell would be placed on the Non-Football Injury List and will be out for the remainder of the season after showing such promise early on, and now, they'll rely on veteran George Fant as their starting right tackle.

Mitchell was a surprising standout from this Jets incredible rookie class of 2022, taken in the fourth round, and while they'll have plenty of decisions to make going forward on the tackle position, it's clear that when Max gets healthy going forward, he'll be a key piece for this offensive line in 2023 and beyond.
