NFL Rumors: Pittsburgh Steelers to Extend OLB

According to Mark Kaboly, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to sign Alex Highsmith to a contract extension and went on to say that it is "a done deal."

Highsmith is currently in his third NFL season and is easily having the best year of his career thus far. In 14 games on the year, he has set a new career high with 11.0 sacks and also has 51 combined tackles. Naturally, after a season like this, it makes all the sense in the world for the Steelers to bring him back.

We will have to keep our eyes out for an extension to be announced, but at the end of the day, Highsmith has certainly earned himself one.
