BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Announces His 2023 NFL Plans

It's finally over.

Aaron Rodgers has stated publicly on The Pat McAfee Show that he is joining the New York Jets for the 2023 season.

"I've made it clear since Friday my intention is to play and to play for the New York Jets."

So, all that's left is for the compensation talks between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets to be completed.

Rodgers also noted that he was 90% leaning towards retiring following his "darkness" retreat, but that he's since flipped his desire to return and play after learning the Packers wanted to trade him.

When asked in the offseason about the possibility of the Jets bringing in a veteran quarterback this offseason, QB Zach Wilson said: "I'm going to make that dude's life hell in practice every day."

That "dude" is now Aaron Rodgers.

To sum it all up, Rodgers is playing in 2023 and he's playing for the Jets.

Huge news for the Jets, who also signed free agent wide receiver, and Rodgers' Packers teammate, Allen Lazard on Tuesday.

Rodgers also noted Nathaniel Hackett being with the Jets was among the top reasons he liked the idea of playing for them, while also giving glowing praise to Hackett as a fantastic human, mentor and coach:

"There's a lot of reasons why the Jets are attractive, but there's one coach who's meant as much to me as any coach I've ever had."

More to come...
