NFL Rumors: Keenan Allen Drawing Interest from Several Teams in Free Agency

Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen runs with the ball during 2025 game.

Veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen is one of the top free agents still available, and according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, “multiple teams” have expressed interest.

The 33-year-old six-time Pro Bowler is reportedly waiting for training camps to open before choosing his next destination, assessing where his veteran leadership and slot skills are most needed. Despite a slight dip in production in 2024 with the Chicago Bears (70 catches, 744 yards, 7 TDs), Allen remains a strong option for teams needing a reliable pass-catcher.

Here are three potential landing spots for Allen as the 2025 season approaches:

Los Angeles Chargers: A Reunion Makes Too Much Sense

The Los Angeles Chargers are left with an exciting but inexperienced receiving corps. Star rookie Ladd McConkey and deep threat Quentin Johnston need a steady veteran presence, and Allen, who spent his first 11 years with the team, would instantly provide that. With plenty of cap space and Justin Herbert still under center, a short-term reunion could help steady the offense and guide their young playmakers.

Cleveland Browns: A Reliable Target for Young QBs

The Cleveland Browns desperately need depth behind Jerry Jeudy and Diontae Johnson, especially with rookie quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel potentially seeing time this season. Allen’s experience and route-running savvy would give the Browns a reliable target who could stabilize a shaky receiving room and support young QB development in a transitional season.

Chicago Bears: A Return Isn't Off the Table

Though the Chicago Bears drafted Luther Burden III and added Colston Loveland, Allen’s 2024 performance and chemistry with Caleb Williams make a return possible. Chicago still wants veteran help, and Allen has kept them on his radar. With DJ Chark visiting but unsigned, a deal with Allen would bring leadership and familiarity to a young, playoff-hopeful Bears squad.
