BREAKING: Amari Cooper Chooses Next Playing Destination

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper runs during 2024 game.

The Las Vegas Raiders are bringing back a familiar face.

Veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper has signed a one-year contract with the team that drafted him fourth overall in 2015. The move reunites Cooper with the organization where he began his career, though this time the setting is Las Vegas instead of Oakland.

Raiders turn to veteran WR amid Meyers drama

The 31-year-old Cooper joins the roster just hours after fellow wideout Jakobi Meyers requested a trade following stalled contract talks. While the Raiders insist they won’t move Meyers, adding Cooper gives them a proven option as they look to stabilize their receiver group.

Cooper is coming off the least-productive season of his career, posting 44 catches for 547 yards and four touchdowns across stints with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. Still, his track record as a five-time Pro Bowler and seven-time 1,000-yard receiver makes him an intriguing addition alongside Meyers, Tre Tucker, and rookie Dont’e Thornton.

A second act in silver and black

Cooper’s first stint with the Raiders (2015–2018) included two Pro Bowl seasons and more than 3,000 receiving yards before he was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys. He later spent time with the Browns and Bills, hitting career highs in both yards (1,250 in 2023) and touchdowns (nine in 2022). Now back with the Raiders, Cooper will try to build chemistry with new quarterback Geno Smith and prove he can still be a difference-maker in his 11th NFL season.
