NFL Rumors: Browns Eyeing Trade For Key Position

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski stands on the sidelines during 2025 game.

The Cleveland Browns are back in the trade rumor mill after another major blow to their offensive line.

Starting left tackle Dawand Jones will miss the rest of the 2025 season following knee surgery, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that general manager Andrew Berry is already “looking at options” to add help at tackle.

Browns eyeing trade after Dawand Jones goes down for season

Jones’ injury is particularly concerning given that it marks his third straight season-ending setback in as many years. With Jack Conklin battling an elbow injury and listed day-to-day, Cleveland turned to veteran Cornelius Lucas and second-year lineman KT Leveston to fill in against the Green Bay Packers

The Browns also signed Thayer Munford Jr. off the New England Patriots practice squad, but the team’s depth remains razor thin.

While Berry is unlikely to make a splashy move, late-round pick swaps or a deal for a depth lineman on an expiring contract appear realistic.

Speculation includes players such as Evan Neal, Rob Havenstein, or Braden Smith could be on the radar if their respective teams decide to sell.

For now, the Browns’ patchwork unit must hold strong as they prepare for a tough Week 4 road matchup against the Detroit Lions.
