NFL Rumors: Cleveland Browns Place Running Back On Trade Block

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford runs the ball during 2024 game.

The Cleveland Browns have placed Jerome Ford on the trade block as rookie Quinshon Judkins takes command of the backfield.

Multiple reports indicate Cleveland is open to moving Ford ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline, with interest expected to hinge on the next two weeks of games.

The timing follows Judkins’ three touchdown performance against the Miami Dolphins and the steady ascent of fellow rookie Dylan Sampson, creating a clear youth movement and prompting Jerome Ford trade conversations.

Why a Jerome Ford trade makes sense for Cleveland
Ford’s role has shrunk as Judkins has produced consistently and Sampson earns situational work. Cleveland also values pass protection from the position, but with Ford approaching free agency and the team investing draft capital at running back, a move now could return an asset rather than losing him for nothing in the spring.

The front office has already shown a willingness to reshape the roster, and placing Ford on the trade block fits that philosophy while preserving depth if the market does not meet their price.

Potential landing spots for a Jerome Ford trade
Reported fits include the Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, and Houston Texans

The Chargers are navigating injuries in their running back room. The Patriots need reinforcements after losing key contributors. The Texans have battled early season absences and could use a capable veteran to steady the rotation.
