New York Giants Sign 8-Year Veteran Wide Receiver
The New York Giants are adding experience and speed, signing veteran wideout and returner Ray-Ray McCloud to the practice squad pending a physical.
Fresh off his release from the Atlanta Falcons, McCloud reunites with Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen from their Buffalo Bills days, offering immediate depth as New York navigates injuries at receiver. The move gives the Giants a versatile slot option who can also juice the return game.

Why the Ray-Ray McCloud Giants practice squad move fits
McCloud produced a career year in 2024 with the Falcons, posting 62 receptions for 686 yards. His role dipped this season, but the skill set remains useful for a Giants offense that lost Malik Nabers to a season-ending ACL tear and has leaned on Wan’Dale Robinson with Darius Slayton battling a hamstring.
Familiarity with Daboll’s concepts should speed onboarding, and special teams value raises his elevation odds.

If promoted, McCloud profiles as a chain-mover from the slot and a field-position weapon on returns. He gives New York a low-cost look before the trade deadline while keeping options open for a bigger swing.
