Free Agent Wide Receiver Tyler Lockett Chooses New Playing Destination
The Las Vegas Raiders are reuniting an old Seattle Seahawks duo.
Veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett is signing with the Raiders after being released by the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden and NFL Network. The 33-year-old pass catcher will reunite with his former head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith, both of whom he played alongside in Seattle from 2020 to 2024.
The move gives the Raiders much-needed experience and familiarity on an offense that has struggled mightily this season.

Lockett brings chemistry and leadership to Vegas
During his time with the Seattle Seahawks, Lockett established himself as one of the franchise’s all-time greats. He ranked second in team history in receptions (661), receiving yards (8,594), and touchdowns (61).
He logged four straight 1,000-yard seasons and was a reliable target for Smith, catching 212 passes for 2,527 yards and 16 touchdowns during their three-year run together. The Raiders, currently one of the league’s lowest-ranked passing attacks, are hoping that rekindled chemistry can stabilize their struggling aerial game.

Raiders’ receiver situation still uncertain
The signing also comes amid tension in the Raiders’ wide receiver room. Veteran Jakobi Meyers has reportedly requested a trade after failing to secure a contract extension, though sources say Las Vegas won’t move him unless the return is significant.
Even with Meyers’ situation unresolved, Lockett’s arrival provides an immediate veteran presence for a team in desperate need of consistency and leadership. Pending a physical, Lockett is expected to be officially introduced before Week 9, potentially making his debut against the New Orleans Saints.
