NFL Rumors: Brian Daboll Reveals What Team He Wants To Coach Next
Daboll ran the offense from 2018 through 2021 and helped guide Josh Allen’s rise, and Buffalo finished top five in both total offense and scoring offense in each of Daboll’s final two seasons calling plays.
Why Buffalo feels like Daboll’s top choice
Multiple reports tied to Dianna Russini’s reporting indicate teams with coordinator openings are operating as if Daboll wants the Bills head coaching job first, with Tennessee viewed as the fallback if he does not get it.

That lines up with Buffalo moving quickly after firing Sean McDermott on January 19, with owner Terry Pegula saying the organization needed a new leadership structure to take the next step.
Josh Allen’s role and the other candidate Buffalo interviewed
Buffalo also completed an interview with offensive coordinator Joe Brady, which keeps a continuity path on the table after an offense that has produced big numbers under his watch, including an NFL record 13 different players catching a touchdown pass in 2024 during his first full season in that role.
Pegula has acknowledged Allen’s voice matters in this process, and the entire pitch for Daboll is the idea of reuniting Allen with the play caller he once called the most influential to his development, at a moment when Buffalo is trying to turn another painful playoff exit into a reset that will finally deliver playoff results.
Brian Daboll turning down the opportunity to work for the Eagles is my second favorite story of the week.#NYGIANTS
