NFL Rumors: New Team Interested in Breece Hall
Breece Hall Connection to Cardinals Makes Sense
LaFleur was the Jets’ offensive coordinator when Hall was drafted in the second round in 2022, and that connection has already surfaced in multiple reports as a reason Arizona could pursue him.
Hall is coming off a strong 2025 season, rushing for a career-high 1,065 yards at 4.4 yards per carry while adding 36 receptions for 350 yards and five total touchdowns.

Since entering the league, the 25-year-old has been one of the more productive dual-threat backs in football.
He ranks among the league leaders with 5,040 scrimmage yards since 2022, and his ability to impact both the run and passing game makes him an ideal three-down option for a Cardinals offense that finished near the bottom of the league in rushing production.
Cardinals Backfield Needs Could Drive a Big Move
Arizona’s interest also comes from necessity. The Cardinals’ running game struggled through injuries in 2025, and veteran James Conner missed most of the season while carrying a sizable cap hit entering his age-31 year.
Behind him, Trey Benson remains unproven, and the rest of the depth chart is unsettled.

With roughly $33–$39 million in projected cap space, Arizona has the flexibility to make a splash if it chooses.
Spotrac estimates Hall could command a deal in the range of four years and $40+ million, a price that reflects both his age and production. The situation isn’t guaranteed to reach open bidding, however, as the Jets are weighing either the franchise tag or a $11.7 million transition tag, which would still allow teams like the Cardinals to negotiate.
