NFL Rumors: Malik Nabers is Recruiting a Big Name to Giants

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers reacts during 2025 game.

Recently, Malik Nabers dropped "Let's play together!" on one of Odell Beckham Jr.'s recent Instagram posts, and just like that, the conversation about an OBJ return to New York is back.

Beckham hasn't played a meaningful NFL snap since a nine-catch, 55-yard cameo with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, and he spent all of 2025 out of football.

But after turning heads at Tom Brady's Fanatics Flag Football Classic last weekend, including a vintage one-handed grab in the back of the end zone while double-covered, the noise around him is picking up again, and the Giants are right in the middle of it.

Odell Beckham Jr. Giants Reunion

NFL insider Jordan Schultz was direct about it on SiriusXM NFL Radio, saying there's a real shot Beckham finds a home before the season and that he couldn't think of a better ending than New York.

The Giants' receiver room lost Wan'Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, and while they added Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III, the depth behind Nabers is still a question mark.

New head coach John Harbaugh coached Beckham in Baltimore in 2023, a season where OBJ caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns, so there's familiarity there.

And Beckham himself has already made clear he's open to it. When asked about the possibility of teaming up with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, his response was about as encouraging as it gets. "That sounds great," Beckham said. "If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that. He's young, he likes to dance, I like all that."

What Teams Are Watching and What Comes Next

The flag football showcase was essentially a two-hour audition, and it appears Beckham passed it.

Robert Griffin III called him out publicly, saying he should still be on an NFL roster, and multiple teams have reportedly taken notice.

What works in Beckham's favor is the suspension situation: he was hit with a six-game ban in 2025 but served it as a free agent, meaning any team that signs him gets a clean slate with no games missed.

He's 33, he's been through two torn ACLs, and nobody is expecting the version of OBJ who put up 1,305 yards as a rookie in 2014.

But a secondary role behind Nabers on a one-year incentive-laden deal, in a city that would absolutely love to have him back? That's tempting.
