Lions' Terrion Arnold Arrested and Facing Possible Life Sentence
Arnold, 23, turned himself in at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County and is facing eight total felony charges, four counts of robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon and four counts of kidnapping, per the Hillsborough County State Attorney's office.
He is being held without bond.
What Police Allege
According to the investigation, the incident began after personal property worth more than $250,000 was reported stolen on February 1 from an Airbnb that Arnold rented in Largo, Florida, where he periodically stayed with six codefendants and other friends.
Three men in their late teens were held at gunpoint, battered, pistol-whipped, and robbed in a Tampa apartment on February 4, three days after the property was reported missing, according to police.
Police say Arnold was the primary conspirator, accusing him of coordinating and directing the codefendants to lure the three men to the apartment where the assault occurred.

Police say this all started after Terrion Arnold and several others had property stolen from an Airbnb Arnold rented in Largo in early February. Investigators say Arnold believed some of the eventual victims… https://t.co/QHsvBUhpqM pic.twitter.com/rPKfOFhgYz
Investigators later determined the three victims were not actually involved in the original Airbnb theft.
The victims told police that Arnold's friends streamed the attack to him, that he was giving orders in a group chat, and that he later arrived at the apartment.
"No one has the right to take the law into their own hands," State Attorney Suzy Lopez said. "A dispute over missing property does not justify kidnapping, violence, or retaliation."
Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw added: "Fame doesn't get you out of criminal charges or our pursuit of justice and holding criminals accountable."
Arnold Denies the Allegations
Arnold's representatives at EAG Sports Management released a statement declaring his innocence.
"Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence," the statement read. "There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences."

The statement added that Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident the judicial process will lead to his vindication.
The Football Implications
Arnold was the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Alabama and has started 22 games for the Lions over the past two seasons, recording 31 tackles and an interception last season while dealing with a season-ending shoulder surgery.
At least seven people face charges in the case, including two who pleaded guilty Wednesday and are cooperating with prosecutors.
Arnold made his first court appearance on Thursday and remains in custody, with a pretrial detention hearing scheduled for Monday where prosecutors will argue he should remain jailed until trial.
Both the Lions and the NFL released statements acknowledging the situation while declining further comment out of respect for the legal process.
Given that the maximum punishment is life in prison, there is a real possibility Arnold's NFL career is over if he is found guilty of even a portion of what he is accused of.
