Raiders Insider Reveals Framework For Maxx Crosby Trade To 49ers

The Maxx Crosby trade speculation has a price tag attached to it.

Per Vincent Bonsignore of The California Post, multiple league sources have outlined the framework of what it would take for the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders.

"Multiple league sources have told The California Post that the framework for a suitable offer would consist of a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and second-year edge rusher Mykel Williams," Bonsignore wrote.

Why the Package Makes Sense

The proposed compensation would surpass the value the Raiders were set to receive for Crosby from the Baltimore Ravens back in March, when Las Vegas agreed to send him for two first-round picks before Baltimore nixed the deal over concerns with Crosby's physical.

Williams, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 draft, helps make up for the fact that the Raiders would not be getting a second first-round pick in this version.

A first-round pick, a second-round pick, and a player who was himself a recent first-round selection lands in roughly the same value range as the two firsts the Ravens deal was built on.

Bonsignore noted the 49ers could easily absorb Crosby's $30 million base salary for 2026 given their league-leading $72.1 million in cap space.

The Bigger Picture

The Los Angeles Rams added Myles Garrett, the Seattle Seahawks are the defending NFC champions, and the 49ers are coming off a season in which they posted a league-worst 20 sacks.

Making matters worse, both Nick Bosa and Williams are coming off torn ACLs, which could limit them early in the year.

Bonsignore framed the idea as far from a pipe dream, noting the same reasons the Raiders agreed to move Crosby in March still apply, namely his desire to compete for a championship and the Raiders' rebuild not aligning with what could be the last prime years of his career.

Crosby turns 29 in August.

Still, there remains no concrete sign that either side wants a divorce.

Crosby has repeatedly suggested through his words and actions that he wants to stay in Las Vegas, and the Raiders are not shopping him.

Bonsignore reported that all signs point to Crosby being ready for training camp, and if he returns to terrorizing opposing linemen the way he did before the knee issue, the Raiders will be flooded with calls.
