NFL Rumors: Seahawks Expressing Interest In Veteran Quarterback

With the Seattle Seahawks trading Russell Wilson earlier this month, they are now in need of a new quarterback. One QB who they are now being linked to is Cam Newton.

Newton reunited with the Carolina Panthers in the middle of last season, and it's fair to say that he struggled. In eight games, he threw four touchdowns, five interceptions, and 684 yards. With that, he went 0-5 as their starter, so he will be looking to rebound with any team he signs with.

When looking at Newton's resume, perhaps the Seahawks are wondering if the 32-year-old is capable of rebounding. In 148 career games between the Panthers and New England Patriots, Newton has thrown 194 touchdowns, 123 interceptions, and 32,382 yards. Earlier in his career, he was a star. He most notably was named NFL MVP and NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2015. He also has three Pro-Bowls on his resume, too.

Nevertheless, Newton could be a decent option for the Seahawks if he can find some of the magic he once had. If not, he could even be an acceptable option for a backup role. Nevertheless, let's see if the Seahawks end up landing him before the offseason is done.
