Falcons Activate Practice Window for Cornerback

A key defensive back will rejoin the Atlanta Falcons in the near future. The team announced Wednesday that it had activated cornerback Isaiah Oliver's practice window following his four-week stint on injured reserve. The team will have 21 days before they're obligated to add Oliver to their 53-man roster. The cornerback has been a consistent starter at nickel for the Falcons over the previous four years, but a knee injury cost him all but four games in 2021. The team signed him to a one-year deal in June.
Oliver joined the Falcons as their 58th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and has started 33 games for the team, nabbing one interception and breaking up 27 passes. He was on pace for the best season of his career in 2021 before going down, earning a 72.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus across his 161 snaps. When healthy, he should compete for playing time with Mike Ford, Darren Hall, and Dee Alford behind the Falcons' top two corners A.J. Terrell and Casey Hayward.
