NFL Rumors: Eagles' Trade Offer For Micah Parsons Revealed

Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons celebrates during 2025 game.

Despite the optics, this wasn’t a star forcing his way out overnight.

Per multiple reports, the Dallas Cowboys began shopping Parsons a week or so before he formally asked out, quietly “putting feelers out” around the league. Their preference was an AFC destination, but surprisingly, there wasn’t meaningful AFC traction.

Philly swung hardest … and got shut out

Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles made the largest bid: two first-rounders, a third, a fifth, and additional considerations. Even for that haul, Dallas “obviously didn’t want to trade him in the division,” especially to the defending champs they opened against in Week 1.

Why the Packers’ offer won

Enter Green Bay

The Packers matched the two firsts and sweetened the pot with Pro Bowl DT Kenny Clark, a piece Dallas valued enough to tip the scales. The deal was completed, and the Packers immediately inked Parsons to a 4-year, $188 million extension ($120M guaranteed), making him the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.

Listed as questionable, Parsons suited up for his Packers debut vs. Detroit and recorded a sack in a statement 27–13 win. Green Bay reportedly limited his workload as a ramp-up plan, but he made an impact.

The Cowboys, who fell 24–20 to the Eagles on Thursday, managed just one sack (Marshawn Kneeland) in their first game post-Parsons. They’ll face the New York Giants next as they try to validate the decision to move on from a generational edge rusher.
