Three Patriots Players Enter Concussion Protocol After Week 16
The New England Patriots pulled off a huge road win over the Baltimore Ravens, then immediately got slapped with the part nobody wants to deal with in late December.
Mike Vrabel confirmed Tuesday that TreVeyon Henderson and Kayshon Boutte are both in concussion protocol, and rookie guard Jared Wilson is in there too, which puts Week 17 against the New York Jets in a weird spot.
TreVeyon Henderson concussion puts RB depth on edge
Henderson went out in the second quarter after his head hit the turf on a tackle and he never returned, and now he has to clear the league’s full process before Sunday. If he cannot go, the Patriots lean harder on Rhamondre Stevenson with D’Ernest Johnson behind him, and they may need to elevate another back depending on how other injuries shake out.

Henderson’s speed has been a real separator all season, so losing him changes how New England threatens defenses, even if Stevenson can handle the volume.
Kayshon Boutte injury could shift targets vs Jets
Boutte has become a steady option in Drake Maye’s passing game, so his status matters more than it might have a month ago. If he misses time, rookie Kyle Williams could see a bigger role after flashing with a long touchdown, and the Patriots may also need more from DeMario Douglas if he is able to suit up.

Up front, Wilson being in protocol is a sneaky one because he played every snap against Baltimore, and Ben Brown could be next in line after New England extended him, which feels like both a reward and a practical move with January getting closer.
Patriots are just a win ahead of the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East division lead with two games to go.
