NFL Rumors: AFC East Team Linked To Trade For Jacoby Brissett
Reich and Brissett have history from their Indianapolis days, and with the Jets searching for a steady veteran option, the fit is obvious on paper.
Jets see Brissett as the clean “bridge QB” option
Brissett checks a lot of boxes for a team trying to stabilize an offense fast.
He’s started 64 games in the NFL and has built a reputation as a functional, low-drama quarterback who can keep an offense on schedule. He also brings real pedigree, including a Super Bowl ring from his rookie year in New England.

Brissett has a relationship with new OC Frank Reich from their time in Indianapolis.

This season, Brissett recorded a career-best 64.9 completion percentage, 3,366 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions across 14 games played. The passing yards, touchdowns, and interceptions were all career bests.
What it might cost and why Arizona could play hardball
The complication is the price, because Brissett isn’t just a random backup contract. He has one year left at $12.5 million, and Arizona has little incentive to move a quarterback who can actually start games if needed. He filled in admirably this season when Kyler Murray went down/got benched.
If the Jets come calling, they’re likely looking at a mid-round pick type of conversation, but any real league-wide interest could push that number up quickly.

Brissett is appealing because he’s steady and familiar to Reich, but the Jets can’t afford to overpay for a short-term answer while trying to rebuild the roster around whoever ultimately becomes the long-term starter.
