3 Free Agency Landing Spots for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku celebrates during 2025 game.

David Njoku feels like one of the more fascinating names still floating around NFL free agency, and the market is starting to narrow.

The veteran tight end has been released by the Cleveland Browns, and with athletic profile and past production, he is not going to stay available forever.

As the dust settles, the Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles look like the three teams most worth watching in the chase for Njoku.

Eagles interest makes Philadelphia a serious David Njoku threat

Reports earlier this month said the Eagles have interest in Njoku as they sort through their tight end plans with Dallas Goedert also in free agency, and several follow-up pieces have continued to point to Philadelphia as a natural destination.

It is easy to see why.

Njoku is a former first-round pick and Pro Bowler who exploded for 81 catches, 882 yards, and six touchdowns in 2023, and he has 384 career receptions for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns

Even in an injury-shortened 2025 season, he still managed 33 catches for 293 yards and four scores in 12 games. Put that kind of athlete next to Jalen Hurts in a red-zone-heavy offense, and the fit becomes obvious.

Titans and Dolphins offer David Njoku a clearer path to volume

The Titans and Dolphins make just as much sense.

Tennessee is another club that should target Njoku, as a roster still looking for pass-catching help and veteran support. With a tight end room featuring Chig Okonkwo and Daniel Bellinger, there's definitely room for a player like Njoku to slot in.

Giving Cam Ward a reliable presence like Njoku would be massive entering his sophomore season, after his struggles this past year.

The Dolphins have openings in their passing game and a changing offensive setup that could create immediate targets for a move tight end.

With the team bringing in Malik Willis and a TE1 of Greg Dulcich, there might not be a bigger role out there for Njoku than in Miami right now.

Njoku turns 30 this season, but he is still widely viewed as one of the better free-agent tight ends available, with one ranking placing him No. 29 overall on the market.
