NFL Rumors: Broncos & Eagles Becoming Trade Partners
AJ Brown trade talks keep Broncos in the mix
Baldinger said there is interest “on both sides,” even if it is not at a full-blown negotiation stage yet, and Denver’s quiet start to outside free agency has only added more fuel to that idea.
The Broncos appear to be looking for a true difference-maker this offseason instead of another depth addition, and Brown is exactly that.
The three-time Pro Bowler finished 2025 with 78 catches, 1,003 yards, and seven touchdowns, giving him another 1,000-yard season, and he could easily slot into Bo Nix and Sean Payton’s offense.
Brian Baldinger told us there is at least some interest in the Broncos and Eagles on an A.J. Brown trade:

Brown is also still in his prime at 28, he is playing on an extension that runs through 2029, and the Eagles are not under pressure to dump him for pennies on the dollar.
That has been the theme throughout this process. Philadelphia would rather keep Brown than move him for a package it does not love, and reports indicate the team has paused broader trade movement for now despite serious talks with other clubs.
That does not kill Denver’s chances, but it does mean the Broncos likely need either the price to soften or the timing to shift later into the offseason.
Eagles and Broncos could revisit AJ Brown later
The Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots have also been connected to Brown, but the Eagles may be far more comfortable sending him to the AFC than strengthening an NFC rival.
At the same time, Philadelphia’s cap situation is important, with multiple reports indicating a potential trade is more plausible closer to June 1 than it is right now.
There’s at least some mutual interest between the Broncos and Eagles on a potential A.J. Brown trade, per Brian Baldinger.

“Interested to see if the price drops with A.J. Brown. If that’s still a possibility, I know that there’s interest there on both sides.”

That leaves the door open for the Broncos to stay involved if they still view Brown as the kind of addition that can take their offense to the next level, especially after an impressive 2025-2026 campaign.
